A staggering 41% of UK businesses are now using social media as part of their marketing mix and if you’re not one of them you are going to get eaten alive. Whilst it’s a hard pill to swallow for some marketers your customers are talking about brands on social media and if you are not there to take part in the conversation they will often find someone else no matter how pretty your storefront or website is!
There are certain powerhouses online right now and there is no point in trying to fight that. If you want to speak with your customers you’re going to need to be in the places where they are. Without a doubt Facebook is the biggest social media platform right now with over 800 million users but that doesn’t mean your efforts should end there. Depending on the type of business you might find that your brand should be on Twitter or even producing videos for YouTube. It can be a daunting prospect if it’s something you’ve never done before but that doesn’t make it any less necessary.
